  1. I am seeking county mediator certification, am I required to earn mentorship points?
    Answer: No, mentorship points are not required for mediator certification retroactively from April 7, 2020 through December 31, 2021.
  2. I am seeking family [or circuit] certification; I am a Florida Bar member. Am I required to earn mentorship points?
    Answer: Perhaps. Between training, your JD degree, and Florida Bar membership, you will earn 65 points and 70 points are required. Unless you are entitled to other miscellaneous points, you will have to earn 5 points in mentorship.
  3. I am seeking circuit [or family] certification; I am a Florida Bar member. Am I required to earn mentorship points?
    Answer: Same answer as question two.
  4. I am seeking family [or circuit] certification. I have a bachelor’s degree and mediation experience. I am not licensed by any other profession. Am I required to earn mentorship points?
  5. Answer: Yes. Between training and your degree and experience, you will earn 55 points and 70 points are required. Unless you are entitled to other miscellaneous points, you may have to earn up to 15 points in mentorship.
  6. I am seeking circuit [or family] certification. I have a master’s degree and am licensed as a mental health professional. Am I required to earn mentorship points?
    Answer: Perhaps. Between training, your master’s degree, and licensure, you will earn 65 points and 70 points are required. Unless you are entitled to other miscellaneous points, you may have to earn 5 points in mentorship.
  7. I am seeking circuit [or family] certification. I am a Florida Bar member and I am already a certified mediator. Am I required to earn mentorship points?
    Answer: No, between your training, degree, Florida Bar membership, and current mediator certification, you will have 70 points which is the minimum requirement.
